Help your Child with Social Interaction
Teach your child to look at you by raising desired objects to your face.
This allows the focus to be on you instead of on the toy.
Teach your child routine
Create simple words to go along with a play activity. For example, building a tower out of blocks.
Use words such as “up, up, up…down” during the activity to create a verbal routine. This will eventually help your child learn to use those words.
Teach your Child to Listen
Remember that children do not process at the same rate as adults.
Pause and be animated! Your facial expressions will help increase the direction.
Teach your Child to Imitate You
Actions come before words, teach your child to copy your movements before expecting them to copy your words.
Teach your child to Play
Use real toys and objects to interact with your child. This is how your child learns to communicate and explore the world around them.
